FORT WAYNE ATTRACTIONS

AMERICA'S FAVORITE PASTIME
Don't miss a chance to take in a minor league baseball game at one-year-old Parkview Field downtown--in the heart of of our fair city. At 3:00 Sunday afternoon, August 8, the 2009 League Champion Fort Wayne Tin Caps are at home against the Bowling Green Hot Rods. Tickets are reasonably priced, available from their website linked above, and worth the trip just to see the gorgeous, new stadium.

ALLEN COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY
You will be pleasantly surprized with our downtown library. It was recently renovated and expanded and is comparable to major libraries in much larger cities. Have you heard about our incredible Geneology Center? World-class and second in size only to the Mormon library in Salt Lake City, our geneology department attracts casual visitors and serious researchers into family histories from all over the country and the world. Visit again sometime when you can stay a while and take your first steps into this fascinating adventure back in time.

AWARD WINNING CHILDREN'S ZOO
Our Fort Wayne Children's Zoo is consistently rated among the top ten children's zoos in the nation. It's open from 9-5 daily except in the winter. With or without grandchildren in tow, you will enjoy strolling among fasciniating exhibits and perhaps learning a little more about the amazing, entertaining creatures with which we share our planet.

GLENBROOK SQUARE MALL
Shopping, anyone? Before the festivities begin Friday night, pop over to nearby Glenbrook Square and check out some of the 100++ stores under one roof. You might even want to take a ride on the beautiful, old-fashioned Carousel near the Food Court!
JEFFERSON POINTE
This open-air mall is home to the Rave Movie Theater, comfortable dining and a wide variety of shops. On balmy Friday evenings in the summer they host a free concert at the mall's central plaza. Concert-goers bring folding chairs and beverages and buy ice cream from an ajacent Cold Stone Creamery. But you can't go; you're coming to our party at the Holiday Inn Friday night.

SCIENCE CENTRAL
This recycled city power plant boasts three floors of fun-filled activiites for your younger grandchildren. From the lean-while-you-play area for the youngest ones to the interactive science exhibits for older kids, there is plenty to keep them, and YOU, busy and happy for a few hours.

VERA BRADLEY DESIGNS
Ladies, you know all about Vera Bradley, don't you? This internationally famous fabric purse and accessory firm was started by two enterprizing businesswomen from, that's right, Fort Wayne, Indiana and we can boast of being home to their world headquarters. Tours of their manufacturing plant are avaiable and, even better, Jefferson Pointe Shopping Center features a unique Vera Bradley Retail Store.
